A beloved Rochester zoo home to over 90 species of animals, open 362 days a year in beautiful Seneca Park.
Seneca Park Zoo has been a cherished Rochester institution since 1894, making it one of the oldest zoos in the country. Nestled within the Frederick Law Olmsted-designed Seneca Park along the Genesee River, the zoo is home to over 90 species of animals from around the world, including African elephants, snow leopards, polar bears, and red pandas.
The zoo's mission centers on connecting people with nature and saving wildlife and wild places. Recent expansions include the stunning A Step Beyond Africa exhibit featuring elephants, white rhinos, and olive baboons, as well as the Animals of the Savanna habitat. The zoo also operates a robust conservation program, contributing to global efforts to protect endangered species.
Open 362 days a year (closed only on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day), Seneca Park Zoo offers seasonal events like Zoo Brew, ZooBoo, and Breakfast with the Animals that make it a year-round destination for families. With affordable admission and free parking, it remains one of Rochester's most accessible and beloved attractions.
