Three floors of interactive science and history exhibits, plus the iconic Strasenburgh Planetarium and Cumming Nature Center.
The Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) is a cornerstone of education and discovery in the Finger Lakes region, offering three floors of interactive exhibits that explore science, technology, natural history, and the cultural heritage of the Genesee Valley. Located at 657 East Avenue, the RMSC campus includes the main Museum & Science Center, the iconic Strasenburgh Planetarium, and the 900-acre Cumming Nature Center in Naples, NY.
Highlights include the Expedition Earth gallery with a life-size mastodon skeleton, the At the Western Door exhibit exploring Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) culture, and rotating special exhibitions that bring cutting-edge science to life. The Strasenburgh Planetarium features immersive star shows and laser light experiences under its 65-foot dome — one of the largest planetarium domes in the Northeast.
The RMSC is a top destination for school field trips, family outings, and curious adults alike. With regular programming including Science Saturdays, adult-only After Dark events, and summer camps, there's always something new to discover. The museum's commitment to making science accessible and fun has made it a Rochester institution for over 100 years.
