Our Commitment
GetAwayRochester.com is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We strive to continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to make our Site as inclusive as possible.
Standards We Follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone. The guidelines cover three levels of accessibility: A, AA, and AAA. We have chosen Level AA as our target standard.
What We Do
To help ensure accessibility, we have taken the following measures: We use semantic HTML to provide meaningful page structure. All images include descriptive alt text where applicable. Our Site is fully navigable using a keyboard. We maintain sufficient color contrast ratios between text and backgrounds. Interactive elements have visible focus indicators. Forms include properly associated labels and error messages. The Site is responsive and functions across a range of devices and screen sizes.
Assistive Technology Compatibility
Our Site is designed to be compatible with common assistive technologies, including screen readers (such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver), screen magnification software, and speech recognition software. We test our Site with these technologies to identify and address potential barriers.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some content may not yet be fully accessible. This may include third-party content or tools embedded on the Site, certain older blog posts that are being updated, and user-submitted content such as listing descriptions and images. We are actively working to address these limitations.
Feedback & Contact
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of GetAwayRochester.com. If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us at [email protected]. We take accessibility feedback seriously and will make reasonable efforts to address reported issues promptly.
Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review our Site against current accessibility standards and make updates as needed. Our team is committed to learning about and implementing best practices in digital accessibility to ensure that GetAwayRochester.com remains welcoming and usable for all visitors.
